The video art installation TRESPASSING examines the themes of freedom and security by turning the idea of security cameras on its head. In the installation, the camera has been replaced by a video projector that projects onto the wall a minimalistic video in which the pieces of a metal fence turn into birds flying away.

Freedom and security can have vastly different meanings depending on the distance you look at them. We as individuals and the societies that we are part of have different approaches to maintaining these vital values. Rapid changes in our social, political, and ecological environments force us to re-evaluate our personal views.

TRESPASSING -videoinstallaatio tutkii vapauden ja turvallisuuden teemoja kääntämällä valvontakameran idean päälaelleen. Teoksessa kamera on korvattu projektorilla, joka piirtää seinään metallisen verkkoaidan siluetin. Kuvassa yhteen kahlitut aidan palaset muuttuvat vapauteen lentäviksi linnuiksi.

Vapauden ja turvallisuuden tasapainon voi nähdä hyvin erilaisena riippuen kummalta puolelta raja-aitaa asiaa tarkastelee. Nopeat muutokset sosiaalisessa, poliittisessa ja ekologisessa ympäristössämme pakottavat meidät pohtimaan omaa arvomaailmaamme.
